TEACHING & Outreach

TEaching

In addition to Introductory Biology, I regularly teach courses in Plant Diversity, Plant Ecology, Botany, Winter Dendrology, Field Research Methods, and Evolution. Other offerings include Evolution and American Culture and Art, Literature and the Land.

Outreach

In addition to our primary service projects, our lab has been involved in a number of outreach events including:
  • workshops with Science in Motion and the PA Botany Symposium.
  • webinar for the PA Center for Private Forests - Invasive Species Management: Picking Battles Large Enough to Matter and Small Enough to Win (available here).
  • webinar panel for the Northeastern Integrated Pest Management Center - Forests, Grains, and Berries – What’s Hot in IPM Tools for Weed Control (available here).
  • general audience talks and other outreach at events hosted by the Chesapeake Watershed Forum, the PA Forest Landowners Conference, the Huntingdon Tree Commission, and the PA Native Plant Society.
Example non-technical publication on invasive species, published in Juniata Voices, and initially presented as a Book End Seminar at Juniata College.
